Terms of Service

Welcome to Kevlar-4u ("the Service"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legal agreement between you ("User" or "you") and Kevlar-4u governing your use of the Service. Please read these Terms carefully. By installing, activating, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Definitions

  • "The Service": The Kevlar-4u command-line tool (CLI) and associated cloud API services, including but not limited to activation code redemption, strategy bundle download, Sync Token management, and API Key management.
  • "CLI Tool": The command-line program installed via npx -y kevlar-4u and running on your local device.
  • "Cloud Service": The backend API service deployed on the Vercel platform, handling activation, license management, strategy bundle distribution, and user account management.
  • "Audit Result": The six-dimension risk detection report, RST crowd simulation output, and other analysis results generated by the Service on your submitted content.
  • "Strategy Bundle": The rules engine configuration and audit dimension definitions distributed by the Service.

2. Account and License

2.1 Registration

You must provide a valid email address to register an account. You represent that the registration information you provide is true, accurate, and complete.

2.2 Activation Code

Free users may activate the Service via activation codes. Activation codes follow the format KV-ACT-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-EXPIRES-30MIN and are valid for 30 minutes from generation.

2.3 Sync Token

  • Free plan users may create 1 Sync Token
  • Personal plan users may create up to 3 named Sync Tokens
  • Team plan members may share Sync Tokens within their team
  • Sync Tokens are used to bind your AI client (e.g., Cursor, Claude Desktop) for device authorization

2.4 API Key

Personal and Team plan users may create API Keys (format: kvl_live_xxx) for programmatic access to strategy services. You are responsible for safeguarding your API Keys and must not share them with unauthorized parties.

2.5 Plans

The Service offers three plans:

  • Free: $0/month
  • Personal: $39/month (CNY ¥279, JPY ¥5,600)
  • Team: $129/month (CNY ¥929, JPY ¥18,600)

Plan feature details are as published on the official pricing page. We reserve the right to adjust pricing. Price changes take effect at the next billing cycle with advance notice.

3. Nature of Service and Important Disclaimers

3.1 Auxiliary Tool Kevlar-4u is an auxiliary content risk detection tool, not a definitive compliance review mechanism. AI-generated audit results carry inherent uncertainty, including the possibility of false positives and false negatives.

3.2 No Substitute for Human Review The Service is not a substitute for human legal review, compliance review, or professional content moderation. You must exercise your own judgment regarding audit results and bear full responsibility for content you ultimately publish.

3.3 Local Content Processing The CLI Tool runs on your local device. Your content under review is never uploaded to Kevlar-4u cloud servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.

4. User Obligations

In using the Service, you agree:

  • Not to use the Service to circumvent content moderation mechanisms or deliberately probe for audit gaps
  • Not to reverse engineer, decompile, or crack the CLI Tool
  • Not to abuse API endpoints (comply with published rate limits)
  • Not to share API Keys or Sync Tokens with unauthorized third parties
  • Not to use the Service for any illegal activities
  • Not to create accounts for minors under 13 years of age

5. Intellectual Property

  • Copyright in the Kevlar-4u CLI Tool, rules engine, strategy bundles, branding, and website content is owned by Kevlar-4u
  • Intellectual property in your content submitted for audit always remains yours
  • Audit Result IP: Audit reports generated by the Service may be used for your internal audit purposes, but may not be resold or distributed as a standalone product in their original format
  • You grant us the right to use anonymized usage statistics (excluding any user content or audit results) for service provision and improvement purposes

6. Payment and Refunds

  • Personal and Team subscriptions are processed via Lemon Squeezy (international users) or WeChat Pay (China users)
  • Subscription fees are charged monthly at the beginning of each billing cycle
  • Refund policies are governed by the terms of the payment platform (Lemon Squeezy or WeChat Pay). We do not process refunds directly
  • Upon cancellation, you may continue using paid features for the remainder of the current billing cycle. Your plan downgrades to Free at the next cycle

7. Service Availability

  • The Service is deployed on the Vercel platform and depends on the infrastructure availability of Vercel and Upstash Redis
  • We do not guarantee 100% uninterrupted operation but will make reasonable efforts to maintain availability
  • Core detection features of the CLI Tool (local rules engine, orchestration mode) operate fully offline and are unaffected by cloud service interruptions
  • The following features depend on cloud services: activation code redemption, strategy bundle download and hot-update, Sync Token verification, API Key authentication

8. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
  • We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for purpose of audit results
  • We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your reliance on audit results
  • We shall not be liable for any loss arising from service interruption, data loss, or strategy bundle update delays
  • We shall not be liable for any loss arising from the actions of third-party payment platforms (Lemon Squeezy, WeChat Pay)

9. Termination

9.1 Termination by User

You may stop using the Service at any time. Uninstalling the CLI Tool (npm uninstall -g kevlar-4u) constitutes termination of use.

9.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account in the following circumstances:

  • Breach of these Terms
  • API abuse
  • Persistent non-payment (for paid plan users)
  • Engaging in illegal activities or activities harmful to our interests

9.3 Data Handling After Termination

Upon account termination, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  • If you are a China-based user: These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Disputes shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation; failing which, they shall be submitted to the competent People's Court.
  • For users in other regions: These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Disputes shall be resolved by arbitration administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) in accordance with its rules.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms. Material changes will be notified through one or more of:

  • Announcement on the official website
  • Email notification to your registered email address

Continued use of the Service after such notice constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you disagree with the changes, you should discontinue use of the Service.
